Who publishes
Estrecho Ormuz is published under the responsibility of the Estrecho Ormuz Editorial Team. It is independent and is not affiliated with governments, armed forces, shipping companies, insurers or energy companies.
The approach is technical and explanatory: it covers energy, navigation and operational evidence without presenting itself as a maritime authority or replacing professional notices. The project does not claim qualifications, field experience or credentials it does not possess.
How content is produced
- Select a question that helps readers interpret the Strait’s status.
- Prioritise primary sources: IMO, United Nations, EIA, IEA, UKMTO/JMIC and sector bodies.
- Separate facts, in-house calculations, inference and scenarios.
- Review figures, links, dates and wording before publication.
- Update when a source materially changes a figure or conclusion.
Use of automation
The automated engine collects public signals, normalises source names, classifies operational wording and generates a provisional status. Automation does not turn rumours into facts or remove human responsibility: rules, tests, corrections and exceptions are documented in the repository and public methodology.
Why it is published
The purpose is to reduce a recurring confusion: threat, declared closure, reduced traffic and operational closure are different conditions. The project prioritises a cautious, verifiable answer for readers interested in energy, logistics and geopolitics.
